The school staff will testify that working at the Ark Christian School is a rewarding, fulfilling experience. It is a special place with a calm, purposeful atmosphere where the teachers from across the school meet together every morning and work as a whole school team whatever section they work in. The Headteacher and her primary and secondary coordinators are an integral part of that team with their own teaching commitments. They are a visible presence around the school during the day.

Job vacancies: Part-Time Teacher of Art & Design (KS3 & IGCSE)

Start Date: September 2026 

 

 

Role Description

In this role, you will inspire and develop students across the secondary school spectrum. You will teach Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9), building their foundational creative skills, and fully prepare Key Stage 4 (Years 10–11) students for their IGCSE Art & Design examinations (Cambridge or Edexcel).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Art lessons for Years 7 to 9 (KS3) and Years 10 to 11 (IGCSE).
  • Build a strong artistic foundation in lower secondary, seamlessly transitioning students into the rigorous IGCSE coursework.
  • Guide IGCSE students through portfolio development, mock exams, and final assessments, ensuring a deep understanding of the exam board criteria
  • Support students in exploring a wide range of mediums (drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, textiles, or digital art).
  • Maintain a vibrant, organized, and safe art room, celebrating student achievements by displaying their work around the school.
